Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the consoles at dpdp.dataniyam.com. How we handle personal data is set out separately in our privacy notice.

1. Access

Accounts are issued to named individuals of a registered organisation, an approved CA or law firm, or Data Niyam staff. Access is granted after registration and activation. Platform registration and activation do not constitute professional accreditation, verification of a current Certificate of Practice or advocate practice status, or execution of an MOU. Professional services require the applicable qualifications and engagement authorisation. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and one-time codes to yourself, and for the actions taken under your account.

2. What the service does

The consoles help you record, assess and evidence your obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the DPDP Rules 2025. Assessments, scores and drafts are decision support. Data Niyam does not certify compliance, and no score confers or removes Significant Data Fiduciary status.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the records you enter. You grant us the licence needed to host, process and display them to your own users and to your authorised Assessor firm, and to produce the reports you ask for. You confirm you are entitled to provide any personal data you enter about other people.

4. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reach another organisation's workspace, probe or disrupt the service, reverse engineer it, or upload unlawful or malicious content. We may suspend access where these terms are breached.

5. Fees

CA revenue-share arrangements require a separate review against ICAI professional rules; registration does not constitute that review or approve a commercial arrangement. Law-firm arrangements must not share professional fees with the platform, and listings must not solicit or promote legal services. Plans and seat counts are billed as shown at the time of purchase. Seat changes take effect from the next billing period unless stated otherwise.

6. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service available but do not warrant uninterrupted operation. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

7. Ending your use

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your workspace. On closure we retain records only for the periods set out in the privacy notice.

8. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at Bangalore having jurisdiction. Questions: ceo@dataniyam.in.
